Deeper healing, in fewer sessions — for people who are ready to move through trauma without waiting months to get there.
Overview
Traditional weekly therapy moves in 50-minute increments and for many people, that format works well. But for others, the stop-start rhythm means spending a significant portion of each session re-establishing safety and context before any real processing can happen. By the time you’re in it, the session is over. An EMDR Intensive changes that entirely.
An EMDR intensive is an extended, structured block of therapy — typically half-day or full-day sessions scheduled across one to three consecutive days. Rather than 50 minutes per week, you have three to six hours per day of focused, sustained work with a certified EMDR therapist. That extended time allows the brain to move through full processing cycles — from the activation of the traumatic material all the way through to its resolution — without being interrupted by the clock.
EMDR processing has a natural rhythm. Traumatic memories activate, move through bilateral stimulation, and begin to lose their emotional charge — but that process needs continuity to reach completion. When sessions end before the cycle closes, the work has to restart from scratch the following week. In an intensive format, we follow the material all the way through. Clients consistently describe a level of shift and relief after an intensive that would have taken months in weekly therapy — because the processing was allowed to finish.
You’re motivated, you’re showing up, but 50 minutes a week isn’t creating the momentum you need. You’re ready to go deeper, faster.
Demanding work, travel, caregiving responsibilities, or living out of the area makes consistent.
There’s something powerful about carving out real, extended time for your healing no distractions.
Progress has stalled. You feel like you’ve been processing the same material for months without breaking through
An upcoming event, a legal date, a major life change sometimes you need to move through specific material.
Intensives are ideal for clients who don’t live locally but want to work with a specific therapist.

Our Value
Every intensive begins with a free pre-intensive consultation call — typically 30 to 45 minutes — where we talk through your history, your goals, what you want to focus on, and whether this format makes sense for where you are right now. No intensive is booked without this conversation first. It’s how we confirm the fit and build the roadmap.
Intensive sessions run three to six hours per day, typically across one to three consecutive days depending on your goals and history. Each day follows a clear arc: we begin with grounding and preparation, move into active EMDR processing, build in rest and integration breaks as needed, and close with a structured closure protocol — so you never leave a session holding unresolved material. You will always know what the day holds before it begins.
EMDR intensives are offered on a private pay basis and priced based on total session hours. Because intensives represent extended, specialized therapeutic time — including pre-intensive assessment and aftercare planning — they are priced accordingly. Please reach out directly to discuss current rates and availability. Many clients find that the results achieved in one intensive would have taken six to twelve months of weekly sessions to reach — making the total investment comparable or less over time. A superbill is provided for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
Free Pre-Intensive Consultation Before anything is scheduled, we have a 30–45 minute call to talk through your history, your goals, what you want to focus on, and whether the intensive format is the right fit for you right now. This call is complimentary and carries no obligation.
The first part of your intensive is dedicated to preparation strengthening your internal resources, establishing grounding and stabilization tools.
Active Trauma Processing Using evidence-based approaches, including EMDR for traumatic grief, narrative work, and meaning-making.
Before your intensive ends, you receive a written aftercare plan covering what to expect in the days and weeks ahead. Follow-up sessions are available to support continued integration as the processing settles and consolidates into lasting change.

FAQs
EMDR intensives are still unfamiliar to many people — even those who have been in therapy for years. These are the questions I hear most often before someone decides to move forward. If something isn’t here, it’s a great conversation to have on a free consultation call.
In weekly EMDR, a significant portion of each session is spent re-establishing context and safety before processing begins — and sessions typically end before a full processing cycle reaches resolution. In an intensive, we have three to six hours per day. That means we can move through an entire processing arc — from activation through resolution — multiple times, without the start-stop rhythm of the weekly format. Clients consistently describe deeper, more durable shifts in significantly less calendar time.
Prior EMDR experience is helpful but not required. What matters more is a genuine readiness to engage with focused, intensive therapeutic work — and confirmation from the pre-intensive consultation that this format is appropriate for you right now. Preparation and resourcing work is built into every intensive regardless of prior experience, so you will never be dropped into deep processing without a foundation in place.
Intensives are customized based on your goals and history, but typically run one to three consecutive days with sessions of three to six hours each day. Each day follows a clear structure: preparation and grounding, active EMDR processing, integration breaks as needed, and a closing protocol. The exact format is determined during your pre-intensive consultation. You will know exactly what to expect before we begin.
EMDR intensives are priced based on total session hours and are offered on a private pay basis. Because intensives involve extended, specialized therapeutic time — including pre-intensive assessment and aftercare planning — they reflect a meaningful investment. Please reach out directly to discuss current rates. A superbill is provided for potential out-of-network reimbursement through your insurance provider. Many clients find the total investment is comparable to — or less than — six to twelve months of weekly sessions.
